HD Movie Mode
Advances in digital technology have given photographers the ability to capture images in new and exciting ways. One of the most exciting new technologies is the ability to shoot videos with a compact COOLPIX camera in beautiful High Definition (HD).
HD video recording allows the user to shoot movies in 16:9 aspect ratio in high resolution. Select COOLPIX models have 720p HD recording capability that can record video in 1280 x 720 resolution. The COOLPIX P100 and S8100 records full HD video in 1920 x 1080 resolution with Stereo sound.
Most HD enabled COOLPIX cameras also have HDMI output which allows direct playback to HDTVs.
Within Movie Mode, there is a time-lapse feature for the capture of sequences of single frames at interval rates ranging from 30 seconds to 60 minutes. When the sequence is completed, the camera automatically compiles the images into a flip-book-like, stop-action movie.
